Breccia: A coarse grained rock with a grain size greater than 2 mm consisting of angular fragments implying minimum transport of material (see Conglomerates). Breccias are generally poorly sorted and commonly contain rock fragment derived from a restricted source. They are of various types:
- Cemented (breccias of this sort are often sub-aerial);
- Fault breccias;
- Volcanic breccia;
- Intraformational.
