Capillary Pressure is the difference between pressure in the water and the oil (or gas) allowing the lighter fluid to displace the other from the rock. Oil displacing water (oil migration) is a drainage process (in a water-wet rock). Water injection or water drive is an imbibition process. The pressure needed for any displacement to take place is the capillary entry pressure.
