Condensed sequence

Condensed sequence is s stratigraphic term used to describe a series of beds which are much thinner than the equivalent beds elsewhere. All the beds are fully represented in the condensed sequence, although on a much reduced scale, i.e. the reduction in thickness is not produced by missing beds (see Unconformity) but by a reduced amount of sedimentation.
