To set up units or coordinates for Petrel project go from Menu bar: Project → Project settings..
You can choose Metric or Field units or customize them.

3D autotracking - Points will be tracked outwards from the seedpoints in all directions. When the reflectors are of good quality this method can be a very efficient way of interpreting through the seismic cube. Holding Shift before starting the seeded autotracking will display the tracking on-screen as it progresses.
2D autotracking - Points will be tracked in the direction of the selected line intersection.
Guided autotracking - The user selects two points and the tracking will find the best route from one to the other. This gives the user a high degree of control as to how the interpretation will develop.
Paintbrush autotracking - Points will be tracked outwards from the seedpoints, limited by the cursor box. Dragging the cursor while pressing the left mouse button will 'paint' interpretation following the cursor path. Works in both 2D and 3D windows.
Active box autotracking - Points will be tracked outwards from the seedpoints, limited by the extent of the box dragged over the area. Works only in a 2D window.
