How to Import ECLIPSE Model to Petrel

Note: Petrel 2009 used

Import Grid and properties

Import ECLIPSE Model to Petrel depends on type of ECLIPSE grid.

1. Make "Models" pane active.

2. File → Import file... (or right button click on "Models" pane space)

3. If your ECLIPSE model with ASCII grid choose Files of type: ECLIPSE keywords (grid geometry and properties)(*.DATA)(*.*).
With ASCII grid you'll have to specify coordinate system.


If your ECLIPSE model with Bnary grid choose Files of type: ECLIPSE/FrontSim data and results(*.*). This method is actually Import ECLIPSE results in Petrel .

4. Open .DATA file.

Import SCAL and ROCK data

1. Make "Input" pane active.

2. File → Import file... (or right button click on "Input" pane space)

3. Choose Files of type: SCAL and ROCK (Rock Physics) Keywords(*.*)

4. Open .DATA file.

Import fluid model

1. Make "Input" pane active.

2. File → Import file... (or right button click on "Input" pane space)

3. Choose Files of type: ECLIPSE fluid model (Keywords) (*.*)

Import ECLIPSE results in Petrel

1. Make "Cases" or "Models" pane active.

2. File → Import file... (or right button click on "Cases" or "Models" pane space)

3. Choose Files of type: ECLIPSE/FrontSim data and results (*.*)

4. Open .DATA file.
